The controller is a crucial part of the Solar Heating System as it identifies when the collector is hot enough to transfer the heat around the loop through the solar coil via a pump. It's design allows this to take place automatically depending on the need.

The controller that is installed is exceptionally user friendly and can be set up to show how much energy has been collected from the panel, how hot the cylinder is and the temperature of the panel.

The controller may also be configured to circulate the water to heat the panel should the collector become close to freezing. (This will only happen in exceptionally cold weather.)
